Police identify man shot to death in alley

A man shot in an alleyway behind a Huntington Beach apartment complex has been identified as Peter James Delano, 31, authorities said.

Police did not release Delano’s city of residence, Lt. Mitchell O’Brien said.

Delano was found shot to death Sunday in the 2200 block of Hess Circle, according to Huntington Beach police.

Several callers told authorities they heard shots fired about 7:35 p.m. Sunday, Bryant said. When police arrived, they found a man with several gunshot wounds lying in the alley behind an apartment complex that faces Delaware Street.

Residents at the apartment complex said they did not believe he lived there.

Police said there was no information about suspects so far, but the investigation is ongoing.
