Club softball team tryouts are Saturday

Huntington Beach Breeze Club Softball team will be holding open tryouts Saturday for both its 14-and-Under and 12-and-Under teams for the upcoming fall/spring seasons.

Tryouts will run from 9 a.m. to noon for the 14-U team and 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the new 12-U team. All tryout sessions will be held at Ocean View High.

Monday tryout for Total Baseball team

Total Baseball in Huntington Beach will hold a tryout session for its 11-year-old travel team Monday.

The tryout will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Total Baseball facility, 17751 Sampson Lane in Huntington Beach. Eligible players cannot turn 12 until April 30, 2009.

Club hoops team seeks new players

Team Neighbor, a Huntington Beach-based girls’ basketball team, is looking to add players in grades sixth, seventh and eighth to its ranks.

Team Neighbor will play in the National Junior Basketball All-Net fall and winter league seasons, in addition to competing in tournament play.

Practices are from 4 to 6 p.m. each Monday and 8 to 10 a.m. each Saturday at the Marine View Middle School gymnasium.

Travel baseball team sets tryout dates

The Vikings 14-and-Under Travel Baseball Club will hold open tryouts for the 2008/09 season Sept. 6 to 7. Potential players would typically enter the eighth grade in September and can’t turn 15 before May 1. The program will bring in instructors to practice sessions and the team will participate in various tournaments during the season. The Vikings practice at Marina High.
