A seemingly safe 4-0 lead over the Wings all but dissipated Monday for the Flames, who were able to hold on for a 4-3 victory in Norris Division play at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Three consecutive goals by Maverick Knight followed by a score by Nick Torres gave the Flames a 4-0 lead late in the second period. But with just 10 seconds remaining in the period, Colin Douglass scored for the Wings to make it 4-1 heading into the final period.

In the third period, Colin Cunningham and Trevor Arsenault both scored — the latter with 1:17 to play — to make it 4-3, but the Wings couldn’t score the equalizing goal.
