Topy Cup

TANAGURA, Japan — The UC Irvine men’s golf team is in eighth place after the second day of the 26th annual Topy Cup at Tanagura Country Club Wednesday.

The Anteaters shot 297 and have a 36-hole total of 593. Tohoku Fukushi University, the three-time defending champion, leads the 10-team field with a two-round score of 553.

UCI junior John Chin is in ninth place at 1-under 143 after a 2-under round of 70. Freshman Michael Im, after a 75 in the second round, is 19th at 147. Senior Sean Shahi is 35th at 150, sophomore Bryan Harris is 40th at 153 and senior Cean Hayashi Geronimo is 58th at 163.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude with the final round today.
