Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian announced Wednesday that it has partnered with USC to establish a fellowship program at Hoag Breast Care Center to train physicians in oncoplastic surgery and other new technologies.

Hoag is the third partner now in the USC Breast Fellowship Program, joining the Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center and USC Kenneth Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Melvin J. Silverstein, the medical director of Hoag Breast Care Center, will oversee the program.

Fellows in the program will learn to perform skin-sparing mastectomies and a number of breast-preserving procedures, and also work with plastic surgeons on breast reconstruction procedures.
