BONSALL STANDS OUT
Orange Coast College sophomore Christian Bonsall was named Defensive Player of the Week in the Southern California Football Assn. Southern Conference after helping the Pirates’ to a 31-7 win over Los Angeles Southwest Sept. 13.
Bonsall, a 6-foot-5, 265-pound end, had 2.5 tackles for loss, including one sack, on which he forced a fumble that OCC recovered. He totaled six tackles.
CURRIER HONORED
Vanguard University sophomore Karri Currier was named Golden State Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week in women’ after recording two goals and three assists in a 2-0-1 week for the Lions.
The 5-foot-9 forward had two goals and an assist in a 3-3 tie with William Carey, ranked No. 17 in the NAIA, on Sept. 12.
She had both assists in a 2-0 win over Mobile (Ala.) Sept. 13. Both games were in the Mobile Soccer Classic.
