Championship match set for Costa Mesa tourney

COSTA MESA — Top-seeded Michael McClune will play second-seeded Zack Fleishman today at 11 a.m. in the Costa Mesa Pro Futures Classic championship match at Costa Mesa Tennis Center.

McClune, a 19-year-old Irvine resident who’s ranked No. 343 in the world, got by No. 6-seeded Tobias Clemens, 6-2, 7-6 (5) in one semifinal. In the other, Fleishman outlasted No. 3-seeded Nikita Kryvonos, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.

The tournament is an ITF pro circuit event, with $10,000 in prize money.

Newport Beach resident Kaes Van’t Hof, who played for the Newport Beach Breakers this summer, fell to Clemens in the quarterfinals, 6-4, 6-4.
