Nine months is a long wait.

Before you know it, your days of reading pregnancy books will be over, and they will be replaced with days and nights of diaper changing, feeding and bonding with your new bundle of joy.

“Belly Laughs: The Naked Truth about Pregnancy and Childbirth” by Jenny McCarthy: Comedian Jenny McCarthy gives a humorous description of the ups and downs of pregnancy. Never one for shyness, McCarthy delivers a brutally honest portrayal of the changes a woman encounters throughout the nine months of pregnancy and beyond.

“Knocked Up: Confessions of a Hip Mother-to-be” by Rebecca Eckler: Eckler’s personal account of her unexpected venture into motherhood met with her raw sense of humor will have readers laughing out loud wondering how, if ever, will she be able to conquer the demands of motherhood.

“Your Pregnancy: Week by Week” by Dr. Glade B. Curtis, OB/GYN and Judith Schuler, M.S.: Take a sneak peek at the changes happening inside and outside your pregnant belly with this in depth pregnancy guidebook. Written by an OB/GYN, this title gives you accurate “bedside” information to alleviate and answer those common pregnancy concerns and questions.

“What to Expect When You Are Expecting” by Heidi Murkoff & Sharon Mazel: An updated more modern version of this classic title (4th Edition) is now available with a cooler hip momma adorning the front cover. The book covers the important pregnancy basics, different issues that may arise, and helps to prepare the new parents for their anticipated arrival.

And, if it is pregnancy fiction that you crave, Sophie Kinsella’s “Shopaholic & Baby” will leave you satisfied. Kinsella’s unforgettable character, Becky Bloomwood, wants to be sure that her baby arrives in style.
