LIONS COLLECTING EYEGLASSES, HEARING AIDS AND CELLPHONES

Harbor Mesa Lions club is collecting used eyeglasses, hearing aids and cellphones for recycling. The club has placed collection boxes in Costa Mesa City Hall, the Costa Mesa Senior Center, Huntington Landmark and elsewhere in our area. The glasses and hearing aids are re-conditioned and given to people around the world who cannot afford to purchase them. The cellphones are turned in for a reimbursement to the club for use in helping our community organizations that assist the needy. Remember, these items that are no longer used can be valuable to this cause. For more information, call (949) 548-2440.

WORTH REPEATING

Thought for the Day as provided by Greg Kelley of the Newport Mesa Irvine Interfaith Council … “After I’m dead and gone I’d rather have people ask why I have no monument than why I have one.”
