NAC Atheletes Compete at Sonoma Wine Classic Rowing Regatta

Junior athletes from the Newport Aquatic Center Junior Rowing Team headed to Northern California this weekend to compete in a regatta in Petaluma, CA.

The NAC had a strong showing competing in the Women’s Open 1x with Jennifer Wukawitz taking home the silver, Mallory Scarpello finishing in respectable fourth and Cynthia Bui finishing eighth. In the Men Open 1x Rory Kew finished as the fastest junior rower and not far behind was Nate Mullins who finished over 30 seconds in front of the next junior men’s competitor. In the Women’s Open 2x the NAC had four boats competing finishing second through fifth with Shaye Bastien and Jennifer Wukawitz taking the silver and Katherine Sanders, Mallory Scarpello, Kristine Sanders, Brigitte Ngo, Katie Rosoff, and Cynthia Bui also putting together a great race to finish off a very successful weekend for the NAC Junior Rowing team.
