John Thomas (Tom) Schuler

1943-2008

He left us much too soon, but he is in

a far better place now. After enduring

declining health for the past 6 months

following a terrible fall, Tommy passed

away peacefully on October 3.

Tom was born on August 30, 1943,

to John T. Schuler and Eileen Dolan

Schuler, in Los Angeles CA. He was

the first-born of six children. He grew

up primarily in the Arcadia area, graduated

from La Salle High School in Pasadena, attended the

University of Santa Clara, and Pasadena City College. Most

recently he lived in Huntington Beach. He loved deep-sea

fishing, and insisted on bringing along his younger sisters on

those fishing trips. He also liked to hunt, which he and his

Dad would do, and later he and his sons, on a regular basis.

He was an accomplished businessman and entrepreneur, like

his Dad. Tommy was especially proud of his service in the

Marine Corps, and used his dog tags for a key chain.

Tom leaves behind his loving family, Jacqueline, John

Thomas, and Brooks Schuler; his siblings Eileen, Denise,

Patty, Dennis and Suzanne Schuler; and nephews Patrick (Kiley)

and Bill (Heather) Artukovich. Husband, father, son, big

brother, uncle, friend, and former Marine, he is preceded in

death by his parents Eileen and John (the Chief). Being the

consummate fisherman, we are certain he has found a great

new spot for albacore and is probably sharing fishing stories

with the Chief.

Funeral mass will be Friday, October 10, at 11:00 AM at Our

Lady Queen of Angeles, Newport Beach

McAulay & Wallace Mortuary assisting the family
