Local women to receive Member of Year awards

Two Huntington Beach women will be honored Friday for leadership at the Orange County chapter of the National Assn. of Women Business Owners’ Remarkable Women Awards.

Janet Cronick, president of Ultimate Gifts Inc., will be honored as the 2008 Member of the Year by charity organization Girls Inc.

Noreen Yoshida-Peer, of the Coastline Community College District, will receive a 2008 Member of the Year honor from The American Assn. for Women in Community College.

Cronick and Yoshida-Peer are two of about 30 women to receive awards Friday in front of an expected audience of 900. The National Assn. of Women Business Owners has more than 400 members in Orange County, according to the organization.
