NEWPORT BEACH — Rebecca Arnold swept at No. 2 singles to pace the Sailors in the Sunset League home match Thursday.

Nelly Redeva and Suzy Strutner, playing doubles together for the first time, also swept impressively to help the Tars, ranked No. 10 in CIF Southern Section Division I, improve to 10-3, 3-0 in league.

CERRITOS — Junior outside hitter Lindsay Kish had nine kills and seven digs to pace the Lightning to a 25-11, 25-19, 25-20 Academy League win at Whitney High Thursday.

Junior libero Sally Mace had 15 digs for the winners (7-10, 1-0 in league), ranked No. 5 in CIF Southern Section Division IV-AA.

Junior Hayden Furey added four kills for Sage Hill.

Costa Mesa def. Godinez

SANTA ANA —Kim Bjelland had seven assists, Whitney Crosby had seven kills and Julianne Judkins added five kills to pace the Mustangs’ 25-10, 25-10, 25-14 sweep in the Orange Coast League road match Thursday.

Costa Mesa improved to 6-8, 1-1 in league.

NEWPORT BEACH — Katey Thompson had eight kills, four ace serves and one block to pace the Sailors’ 25-13, 25-16, 25-10 conquest in their Sunset League home match Thursday.

Alice Cope had four kills and four blocks, while Jennifer Palmquist and Mary Buckingham added four kills apiece for the winners, ranked No. 5 in CIF Southern Section Division I-AA.

Arrielle Lysacek had 13 assists, three kills and two aces for the Tars (12-4, 1-1 in league), who also received three kills from Maggie Magner.

Mackenzi Campbell had seven assists and two aces for Newport Harbor.

Corona del Mar def. Irvine

CORONA DEL MAR — Conley Kipp led the Sea Kings with six kills and two solo blocks in their 25-15, 25-9, 25-13 Pacific Coast League win Thursday night.

Jenny Martin added nine digs and five service aces, while Madie Smith had 15 assists for the Sea Kings (9-3, 2-0 in league).

SEAL BEACH — Junior Lauren Draganza shot a two-over-par 38 to earn medalist honors for the undefeated Sailors in the Sunset League match at Old Ranch Country Club Thursday.

Tiffany Kane (42), Ali Thomas (44), Morgan Moody (47), Lindsey Hanna (51) also contributed to the victory for Harbor (13-0, 5-0 in league).

COSTA MESA — Kim Haycraft led the winners, shooting three-over-par 38 on the modified Mesa Linda course in a Golden West League match Thursday at the Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club.

Ashley Peters (40), Nushin Tasbihchi (41), Jackie Crosson (42) and Jeana de Arakal (43) also scored for the Eagles (10-3, 5-1 in league).

NEWPORT BEACH — Senior Kelly Moorhead and junior Ashley Varner both shot seven-over-par 42 and three other Sea Kings shot 44 to produce the team’s lowest combined score of the season in the Pacific Coast League match Thursday at Newport Beach Country Club.

Amanda Johnson, Hyebin Hong and Lisa Chan all shot 44 for CdM, which improved to 8-6, 4-2 in league.

Beckman fell to 6-3, 4-3.

COSTA MESA — Claire Ramser scored off a short corner to tie the game 10 minutes into regulation and neither team scored in overtime in a Sunset League home game Thursday at Harper Community Center.

Goalie Sydney King made 12 saves for the Sailors, who also received eight saves from defender Zoie Wolfe, Newport Harbor Coach Devon Kelly said.

Newport Harbor, which dropped a league game to Fountain Valley, 2-1, on Tuesday, is now 4-2-2, 2-1-1 in league.

Huntington Beach defeated Newport last season in the title game of the postseason Tournament of Champions.
