Edison raising funds for upcoming trip

The Edison High boys’ basketball team will hold a garage sale in an effort to further raise funds for a trip to Hawaii for tournament competition in December.

The garage sale will begin at 7 a.m. and ends at noon Oct. 18 in front of Edison High.

The Chargers are scheduled to compete in tournament action Dec. 18-23 in Maui at the Lahaina Convention Center.

Volleyball club tryout dates are set

TCA (Team Complete Athlete) Volleyball Club is seeking girls ages 12 to 18 from throughout Orange County to try out for its competitive teams.

The first of six tryout sessions is Sunday, starting at 9 a.m. for 13s and 14s and 2 p.m. for 12-and-under.

All tryouts will be at Los Caballeros Sports Club, 17272 Newhope Ave., Fountain Valley.

Youth Lacrosse group holding clinics

The Huntington Beach Blackhawks Youth Lacrosse group will hold free clinics from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Mesa View Middle School, 17601 Avilla Lane in Huntington Beach.

The clinics, open to boys grades second through eighth, will focus on developing basic skills. Participants must provide their own lacrosse stick and gloves are recommended.

The Blackhawks also are looking for coaches, assistant coaches, referees and team managers to help with our teams.
