A 20-year-old Long Beach man and a teenage boy were arrested Monday morning after a resident in a Costa Mesa apartment complex told police they were burglarizing cars in the neighborhood, police said.

Richard Foxworth, 20, and a 14-year-old runaway from Anaheim, were arrested about 4 a.m. after police found them about a block away from where a resident said her car had been burglarized in the 2000 block of Fullerton Avenue, authorities said.

The resident said she looked out her window and noticed her car’s dome light was on, Lt. Paul Dondero said. The woman checked on her car and saw it had been burglarized and called police with a description of two men she saw walking away from the area, police said. Foxworth and the boy were arrested about a block away.

Police returned to the apartment complex with the pair, and the woman identified them, Dondero said. Police found another resident’s property on one of the suspects as well, he said. In all, police identified five cars that had been burglarized Sunday night or Monday morning.
