Car dealerships, Saks to join up for fundraiser

Fletcher Jones Motorcars is celebrating National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October with its 10th annual Key to The Cure fundraising campaign.

Each year, Fletcher Jones Motorcars teams up with Mercedes-Benz USA and Saks Fifth Avenue to host the monthlong fundraiser that has generated more than $28 million for breast cancer charities across the nation over the past decade. Funds are raised via the sales of specially outfitted Key to the Cure edition Mercedes-Benz S550 Sport Sedans and a charity shopping weekend that will be at Saks Fifth Avenue South Coast Plaza beginning today through Sunday.

Only 1,000 Key to the Cure vehicles are sold each year and, as the nation’s No. 1 Mercedes-Benz dealership, Fletcher Jones Motorcars receives the largest allotment of them. The 2009 S550 Sport Sedans feature exclusive diamond-white metallic paint, black-and-tan leather interior, state-of-the-art DVD sound and navigation systems, special 20-inch AMG performance wheels and tires and a high performance engine that enables the vehicle to travel from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds.

The limited-edition vehicle will be on display at Saks throughout the charity sales event.
