Don Mathieson, 57 of Costa

Mesa passed away October

14th 2008. Don is survived by

his wife and best friend, Susie

Mathieson and his four

children, Melissa Recla

and husband John, Heidi

Mathieson, Tyler Mathieson,

and Cathy Fries and husband

Shane and eight grandchildren

Madison, Alyssa, John, Justin,

Annalee, Anna, Jordan, and Braedon; his brothers Ray and

Del and twin sister Diana and their families. He was a loving

father who valued family above all. Don and Susie shared an

extraordinary bond, their marriage was one that all would

aspire to have. Everyone who knew him enjoyed his unique

personality and sense of humor. He was affectionately known

to his family and friends as The Big Cheese.

Don was born on November 8, 1950 in Phoenix Arizona;

he came to Southern California in 1965. He graduated from

Estancia High School in 1968, and following his enlistment in

the Army, served a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1968-1970.

He co-founded Plastic Reinforcements, Inc. in 1983. Don and

Susie’s passion for fishing and boating began with the purchase

of their first boat in 1992 and continued through many trips to

Catalina, Mexico and the Caribbean. He was loved and greatly

admired by his numerous friends and family, he will be missed

every day.

A memorial celebration of Don’s life will be held on Saturday,

October 18, 2008, at the Mathieson residence at 2:00 PM.
