The Huntington Beach Jr. Clinic Oilers had little problem with the Tri-City Steelers and came away with a convincing 40-7 victory Saturday in Jr. All-American Football action at Huntington Beach High.

Nicholas Welch ran for three touchdowns, with two covering more than 50 yards. Running backs Ryan Ramlose, Cameron Dashiell and Arick McLawyer also scored touchdowns for the Oilers, who evened their record at 3-3.

The Jr. Clinic Oilers host the Garden Grove Falcons at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Huntington Beach High.

Huntington 8, Corona 6: The Oilers returned from the long trip to Corona with a two-point victory over the host Panthers.

Huntington overcame a 6-0 first quarter deficit to earn the win. In the 2nd quarter, the Oilers took advantage of an interception by Scotty Phillips and turned the turnover into their only scoring drive of the day. A five-yard run by Nick Howard capped a successful drive and tied the score. On the two-point conversion try, the Oilers were hit with a five-yard penalty. Backed up further, Howard still was able to boot the long two-point kick through the uprights to give Huntington an 8-6 lead.

The Pee Wee Oilers resume play at 9:30 a.m. Saturday hosting the South Bay Packers at Huntington Beach High.
