Laguna fall sports are well represented in CIF polls

The CIF Southern Section office in Los Alamitos released its new weekly rankings Monday for football, girls’ volleyball, boys’ water polo, girls’ tennis and girls’ volleyball.

Laguna fall sports teams were ranked in girls’ volleyball, girls’ tennis, boys’ and girls’ cross-country and boy’s water polo.

The girls’ volleyball, boys’ cross-country and boy’s water polo teams retained their rankings from the previous week’s polling.

The girls’ volleyball team came in at No. 5 in Division IA, with Santa Barbara holding down the top spot. The boys’ cross-country team was still No. 2 in Division IV behind Big Bear and the boys’ water polo team is at No. 4 in Division III, with Montebello still at No. 1.

The girls’ cross-country team dropped two spots to No. 8 in Division IV, which has La Reina in the top spot, and the girls’ tennis team appeared in the Division I rankings “” at No. 8 “” for the first time this season. Dana Hills and Corona del Mar are the top two teams in that division.
