Fred E. Aengst, MD

Feb. 3, 1935 -- Oct. 4, 2008

Fred Aengst passed away peacefully in his sleep October 4th surrounded by family and friends. Born and raised in Royal Oak, Michigan, Fred graduated from the University of Michigan and Wayne State University and went on to practice medicine (specializing in Otolaryngology) for 40 years. Dedicated to his profession, an intellectual with many interests, a lover especially of his family and loyal to his friends, he lived life to the fullest.

Fred is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janet; children Peter (wife Kate) and Jennifer; his grandson Nolan; his sister Margaret (husband Al); nephews Alex and Justin; neice Kirsten (husband Chad). He will be fondly remembered by his longtime caregiver Paul, who became part of our extended family. He is loved by his family and friends and will be missed everyday.

A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews church on Friday, October 24th at 3pm. Donations in his name may be made to the Univeristy of Michigna UMAOC Scholarship, PO Box 5178, Orange, CA 92863 or the American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75231.
