NEWPORT BEACH — Senior Nelly Radeva was perfect in her sweep at No. 1 singles, helping lead the Sailors in the Sunset League match Thursday.
Natalie Small and Jeanne Frei earned two wins at No. 1 doubles for Newport Harbor (14-3, 7-0 in league). Alex Aiello and Riley Mathies recorded a big win at No. 2 doubles, 7-6 (5).
Cynthia Waterman had not played since Saturday because of a sprained wrist, Newport Harbor Coach Kristen Case said. But Waterman was able to play twice with Lauren Conway, winning one set and nine games overall.
“Every set the girls were just fighting.” Case said. “It was amazing to watch. My girls are so passionate about each other and pulling for each other, that’s what always brings us through.”

SAN CLEMENTE — The Lightning, who collected three wins in singles, missed out on their shot for a tie for first place in the Academy League Thursday at San Clemente Tennis Center.
Sage Hill (13-5, 5-2 in league) was without junior Julia Blakeley (flu), who swept in singles Oct. 17, when the Lightning lost to the Tartans, 10-8. Sage Hill, which clinched second place in league, had won the Academy League title the past five seasons.
St. Margaret’s, ranked No. 1 in CIF Southern Section Division IV, remained undefeated at 16-0, 6-0.
Sage Hill, ranked No. 2 in CIF Division IV, plays host to Brethren Christian today at Balboa Bay Club Racquet Club.

IRVINE — Junior Melissa Matsuoka won all 18 games to sweep at No. 1 singles for the Sea Kings in their Pacific Coast League match Thursday.
The No. 1 doubles team of Azadeh Nazemi and Rebecca Beyer won 18 of 19 games for Corona del Mar (12-0, 6-0 in league), ranked No. 1 in CIF Southern Section Division I.

COSTA MESA — Sandra Im earned a win at No. 1 singles for the Mustangs in the Orange Coast League match Thursday.
Vien Le and Rachel Daley also had a win at No. 2 doubles for Costa Mesa (2-5, 2-5 in league).

NEWPORT BEACH — Freshman Charlotte Skjonsby, formerly an alternate who was playing in her first match, shot six-over-par 42 to earn medalist honors for the Sailors at Big Canyon Country Club Thursday.
Newport Harbor, which finished second in the Sunset League last year, became co-champions with the win in the regular-season finale. The Sailors (17-1, 9-1 in league) also clinched a spot in the CIF Southern Section Central Team Divisional to be played Nov. 10 at Menifee Lakes Golf Club.
Against the Barons, Skjonsby became the seventh different Harbor golfer to earn a medalist honor this season. Ali Thomas (43), Tiffany Kane (44), Lauren Draganza (46) and Lindsey Hanna (48) also contributed to the Sailors’ win.
Newport Harbor will compete in the two-day Sunset League finals that begin Monday at El Prado Golf Course.
Estancia 226, Orange 282
COSTA MESA — Sophomore Ashley Peters shot five-over-par 40 to pace the Eagles in the Golden West League finale Thursday at the Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club’s Mesa Linda course, allowing them to earn a share of the league title with Laguna Beach.
Estancia has clinched a berth in the CIF Southern Section Team Divisional, based on posting at least six rounds of 240 or better on par-36 courses, Eagles Coach Art Perry said.
Even if Laguna Beach wins a team playoff Monday during the first day of the two-day league individual finals, Estancia would advance to the postseason.
Jeana de Arakal (43), Nushin Tasbihchi (47), Kim Haycraft (47) and Nicole Irigoyen (49) also scored for Estancia (15-3, 9-1 in league).

COSTA MESA — Amanda Watson led the Eagles with 32 digs in their 25-15, 22-25, 25-12, 25-20 Orange Coast League win Thursday at Costa Mesa.
Annie Tomasek had 19 kills and three aces, while Shona Lamb added 43 assists for Estancia (17-5, 4-1 in league).
Kim Bjelland led the Mustangs (8-13, 1-4 in league) with 18 assists. Whitney Crosby had 12 kills and Alicia Eastman finished with 12 digs for Costa Mesa.

CORONA DEL MAR — Conley Kipp recorded 10 kills and three solo blocks to help lead the Sea Kings to a 25-17, 25-17, 25-12 Pacific Coast League win Thursday night.
Madie Smith contributed 30 assists, Sydney Brombal had five aces and Ali Halford added six digs for CdM (12-4, 4-1 in league).

COSTA MESA — Caroline Hardenbergh scored first for the Sailors in their Sunset League game at Harper Community Center Thursday.
Kimmy Ramser assisted on Hardenbergh’s goal. Shannon Rohan, Kylie Sheppard and Jocelyn McCrae added one goal each for Newport Harbor (9-1-3, 6-1-1 in league). Lauren Chandler and Terra Giacomaro had one assist apiece, while goalie Sydney King had five saves for the Sailors.
The Sailors, who are in second in league, play at Huntington Beach on Tuesday at 3 p.m. The Oilers are in first in the league.

SAN CLEMENTE — The Sailors suffered their first defeat and dropped to 2-1 in the South Coast League Wednesday at T Street.
It was a matchup of last year’s South Coast league co-champions.
The four boys’ shortboard heats were each decided by one point as San Clemente edged Newport, 44-40. The Sailors’ Victor Done continued his recent hot stretch, winning for the third week in a row. He achieved Newport’s shortboard high wave score of 6.2.
Newport Harbor’s Canon Call, Mark Contreras and Max Colvin placed second in their respective heats. Placing third for the Newport squad were Chase Wilson, and Bobby Okvist.
The boys’ longboard squad won for the third time this season, 14-7. The team was led by first-place finisher Andy Delorme. This was the third contest that Delorme won the longboard competition. Michael Maddox placed second for the longboard squad.
The girls’ shortboard squad was lead by winner Kaleigh Gilchrist, who earned her third shortboard contest win.
Devyn Hartnett was third in the girls’ longboard.
Joe Suzuki was second in the bodyboard event.
