NAC Rowers Post Strong Results in Northern California
The Newport Aquatic Center Junior Rowing Team traveled to Sacramento this weekend to compete at the Head of the American, a three-mile race against the clock. Several of the top level teams from the region were also in attendance, offering a great early preview of the upcoming racing season in Spring 09’.
The Boys once again put forth a strong performance, finishing third, tenth and twelfth out of twenty two entries in the Boys Junior Eight event. The boys also tied for first in the Men’s Open Lightweight eight and finished second in the Junior four.
The Girls also showed a lot of potential finishing third and nineteenth out of twenty eight entries in the Junior Girls Eight event. The girls finished second in the Open Lightweight Eight event and thirteenth in the Junior Four event.
The weekend was a success. And now the athletes will set their focus on winning at their home course this Sunday. For NAC will be hosting teams from all over the country at the Newport Autumn Rowing Festival.
