CHINO — Newport Harbor High junior Lauren Draganza shot two-over-par 38 Monday to take the lead after the first day of the two-day event at El Prado Golf Course.
Draganza holds a one-shot lead after nine holes.
Also advancing to today’s final round for the Tars were: Tiffany Kane (41), Ali Thomas (43), Lindsey Hanna (44), and Casey Jones (45)
Golden West League finals
COSTA MESA — Estancia High sophomore Ashley Peters shot nine-over-par 79 Monday to lead six Eagles who advanced to today’s final round at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club. Peters is third, four shots off the lead.
Eagles who moved on are Kim Haycraft (83), Jeana de Arakal (84), Jackie Crosson (95), Matitza Gonzales (95) and Nicole Irigoyen (95).
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Estancia def. Godinez
SANTA ANA — Senior Taryn Patton had 10 kills to pace the Eagles’ 25-5, 25-12, 25-8 Orange Coast League triumph Monday at Godinez.
Amy Hartwell had five aces and Shona Lamb had 26 assists for Estancia (17-5, 5-1 in league).

WHITTIER — Costa Mesa High split a pair of matches Monday in pool play at Whittier High.
The Mustangs defeated Whittier, 11-9, immediately after falling to Pasadena Poly, 10-9.
Senior Cody Serrano had four goals in the victory, which improved the Mustangs to 15-6.
Joey Dinh and Chingiz Bigalimov added two goals apiece and James Wanbaugh, filling in for goalie Jackson O’Conner, out with a sprained ankle, had six saves against Whittier.
Dustin Serrano had four goals, while Cody Serrano and Garrett Frazier had two apiece against Pasadena Poly.
Costa Mesa led, 9-8, with 90 seconds left, but gave up two goals. The Mustangs’ last-second shot was stopped by the goalie.
