Service Academies deadline is Nov. 3

U.S. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher’s office has sent out a notice that those in his district interested in the United States Service Academies are facing a Monday deadline to complete their applications.

“This is a unique opportunity for ambitious young men and women to earn a college degree while serving honorably in our armed forces,” Rohrabacher said in a statement.

The academies, which include the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, require nominations from officials such as members of Congress.

The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require such a nomination.
