Man killed after walking into fast lane, police say

A Buena Park man was killed Tuesday afternoon when he was struck by a sport utility vehicle on Beach Boulevard, Huntington Beach police said.

Jon Turner, 45, was struck when he walked into the fast lane about 240 feet north of Utica Street, while Kristine Graham, 29, also of Buena Park, was driving her tan Nissan Murano in the fast lane, police said.

Police received a call about the collision at 3:22 p.m. Turner was pronounced dead at Huntington Beach Hospital at 4:03 p.m., the county coroner said.

The SUV was moderately damaged.
