The Allergan Foundation recently selected Newport Beach Public Library Literacy Services to receive a $3,500 grant.

The grant will help fund programs and materials for the literacy program. Literacy Services provides free literacy instruction to adults who live or work in the Newport Beach area. Literacy Services currently has nearly 100 active adult learners working with 80 volunteer tutors one-on-one and in small group classes

Since its inception in 1998, The Allergan Foundation has given about $12 million to support the arts, civic programs, education, and health and human services. This is the first year that Newport Beach Literacy Services has received a grant from The Allergan Foundation.
