FULLERTON — The Anteaters prevailed, 25-23, 25-11, 23-25, 19-25, 15-8, to solidify their hold on third place in the Big West Conference Thursday at Titan Gym.

Senior Lauren Kellerman led the way with 19 kills, while junior Taryn Robertson had 50 assists and 18 digs and senior libero Devon Sutherland had 29 digs for the winners (11-11, 6-3 in conference), who avenged a four-game home loss to the Titans on Oct. 4.

Fullerton falls to 12-13, 5-5 and drops out of a three-way tie for fourth.

GREAT FALLS, Mont. — The defending NAIA Division I champions opened the season with a nonconference road date Thursday.

The Lions, ranked No. 2 in the national preseason poll, were led by junior Diana Neves a transfer from Tusculum, who had 18 points. Senior Lauren Gregory had 13 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore Sarah Boyd had 12 points and five assists for the winners.

Vanguard plays tonight, opening a two-game tournament at Montana State University-Northern against Rocky Mountain College at 1 p.m.
