Realty board seeking grant applicants

The Laguna Board of Realtors and Affiliates Charitable Assistance Fund will review written applications in early November to determine which local community groups will receive donations from 2009 fundraising events. The group sponsors three big fundraising events: Only In Laguna Fashion Show in March; A Taste For Charity and Silent Art Auction in May; and the Pet Parade and Chili Cook-off in September.

Proceeds are donated to local nonprofits that generally are smaller in size, serve local needs and do not already have large funding sources. Scholarships are also awarded to qualifying Laguna Beach High School students.

Thousands of dollars are raised and many nonprofits have benefited over the years. Groups that would like to apply for funds this coming year should contact Board Executive Vice President Stephanie Lennon at (949) 497-2474 or by e-mail at Stephanie@lbrealtors.com.

Groups must be registered 501c3 nonprofits and a questionnaire will be supplied. Prior recipients are allowed to re-apply. The deadline for written applications is Nov. 10. Letters will be sent to all applicants by January notifying them of selection committee’s decisions.

Internet investment summit set at Montage

November Chamber mixer at French 75

The Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce will hold its November mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at French 75, 1464 S. Coast Hwy., Laguna Beach.

Members are $10, non-members $20.
