SAN JOSE — Jack Yeager scored with one second left in the second period of overtime to lead Newport Harbor High to a 13-12 win over previously unbeaten Miramonte in the championship game Saturday at Bellarmine College Preparatory.

Yeager finished with three assists, two goals and a steal. Zach Lucas scored three goals and assisted on the game-winning goal. Lucas scored wtih 16 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime. He had three assists and five steals. Zach Osadche scored in the first overtime period for Newport Harbor (18-6). Andy Hayes, who had two goals and a steal, assisted on Osadche’s goal. Nick Holbrook had eight saves and one assist.

David Linden had three goals and four steals. Blake Kelly added two goals. Miramonte dropped to 22-1.

Newport Harbor defeated rival Corona del Mar, 7-4, in a semifinal earlier in the day, as Lucas and Osadche led with two goals each. CdM goalie Isle Anderson had 13 saves.

The Sea Kings (15-9) finished fourth in the tournament after a 11-10 loss to Coronado. Brian Schiefer and Max Bergeson scored three goals each and Adnerson stopped another 13 shots.

Servite tournament

SANTA ANA — Sage Hill beat Santa Ana Valley, 11-4, Saturday.

Junior Andrew Dorne scored five goals for the Lightning (13-9), and senior Tucker Pettis added three. Goalie Jake Blitzer made 15 saves.

Earlier Saturday, Sage Hill defeated La Habra, 12-4, behind seven goals from Pettis and two each from Dorne and Michael Ljungh.

Sage Hill won four of its five games at the tournament.

Sunset League finals

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Senior Jake Dawson finished second and helped the Sailors to repeat as league champions at Central Park Saturday.

Dawson finished 15 minutes, 31 seconds on the three-mile course, coming in behind Edison’s Matt McElroy (15:25). The Sailors scored 44 points to place ahead of Esperanza (59) and Fountain Valley (61). Seniors Michael Taylor (fifth, 15:50), Scott Figueroa (ninth, 16:10), Alex Crawford (11th, 16:12) and Saul Delarosa (17th, 16:31) contributed to Harbor’s win, while sophomore Trent Casillas (18th, 16:36) and Alex Jolly (31st in 17:52 also competed for the Sailors, who have qualified to compete in the CIF Southern Section preliminaries Nov. 15 at Mt. San Antonio College.

On the girls’ side, Erica Pearson finished third in 18:33.6 to lead the Sailors to a second-place finish with 60 points behind champion Esperanza (44 points) and in front of Fountain Valley (70).

Edison’s Hillary Hayes won the race in 17:19.7. Newport Harbor’s Torris Sarris (18:38.5) and Desiree Alexander (18:47.8) finished fourth and eighth, respectively, while Ava Nelson (21st, 19:26.8), Lauren Clemence (24th, 19:41.7), Casey DeYoung (33rd, 20:09.9) and Patty Moddelmog (35th, 20:11.7) also competed.

COSTA MESA — Kyle Sheppard scored three goals for the Sailors in their regular-season finale Friday at Harper Community Center.

Calire Ramser scored a goal and had an assist, Ali Gilchrist added a goal, while Lauren Chandler and Jocelyn McRae contributed one assist each for Harbor (10-2-3, 7-2-1 in the Sunset League). Jessica Bass recorded four saves.

The Sailors, who finished second in league, play host to Louisville Monday at 3 p.m. in a first-round game of the Los Angeles Field Hockey Assn. Tournament of Champions.
