Nonprofit needs food donations, volunteers

Share our Selves in Costa Mesa will be collecting the food items necessary to make a Thanksgiving meal from Nov. 17 to 21.

The nonprofit that in part feeds needy people in the area will accept turkeys, stuffing mix, pumpkins and other standards as well as canned goods. Volunteers are needed Nov. 20 and 21, and Nov. 24 to 26 to help sort and distribute items at the charity’s pantry, 1550 Superior Ave.

Last year, Share our Selves gave out 600 to 700 bags of food in the days right before Thanksgiving, each one containing a turkey or two chickens. To help, contact Sheri Barrios at (949) 642-3451, Ext. 262, or sbarrios@shareourselves.org.
