Rib company diners can add a donation to the tab

Newport Rib Company is a frequent contributor to local charities, with donations often coming in the form barbecued meat, but for the rest of the month the restaurant will donate part of its proceeds to 25 area organizations.

Starting today the restaurant will hand out a card with the names of 25 charities to its diners.

Patrons can pick an organization from the list, and 20% of their bill will be donated to the charity.

Checks will be given to the charities at closing ceremonies during the first week of December.

The Ursini family, which owns Newport Rib Company’s restaurant on Harbor Boulevard in Costa Mesa, is also doing similar promotions at its other area restaurants: Naples Rib Company in Long Beach and Newport Rib Company in Ladera Ranch.
