NORTH HOLLYWOOD — Sophomore goalie Sydney King recorded three straight saves in the stroke portion to help lead the Sailors past the semifinals Tuesday and into Thursday’s title game of the Tournament of Champions.

The game went to strokes, essentially a shootout like in soccer, after a 1-1 tie in regulation. Harvard-Westlake scored two minutes into the game. Junior Claire Ramser tied it up after an assist from junior Claire Layton on a short corner 10 minutes into the second half. After a scoreless, 10-minuite, seven-on-seven, sudden-death overtime period, the game was decided on strokes. Juniors Lauren Chandler and Kimmy Ramser as well as senior Kylie Sheppard scored goals after the overtime. The Sailors will play against Huntington Beach at Edison Thursday at 4:30 p.m. for the championship.
