CORONA DEL MAR — Lucas Reynolds scored three goals for the Sea Kings in their regular-season finale Friday.

Max Bergeson added two goal and goalie Isle Anderson recorded 12 saves for CdM (17-9), ranked No. 5 in CIF Southern Section Division I. The Monarchs entered ranked No. 1 in Division II.

The Sea Kings will await the CIF playoff pairings to be released Sunday.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — The Lightning fell, 25-17, 26-28, 25-18, 25-16, Thursday and will settle for the Academy League co-championship along with the Tartans.

Junior Lindsey Kish had 12 kills and 12 digs for Sage (14-11, 9-1 in league), while senior Tierney Danner added 10 kills and three stuff blocks and junior Madison Gordon-Lavee had seven digs, five kills and four blocks.

DANA POINT — Blake Davis, Chase Wilson and Jared Cassidy earned first place in their heats for boys’ shortboard for Newport Harbor in its South Coast League win Thursday at Salt Creek.

Newport Harbor beat Dana Hills for the second time this season and improved to 4-1.

The Newport Harbor boys’ shortboard squad won its competition, 53-31 by winning three of the four heats.

Davis, a first-year surfer, registered the high score with a 7.0, while Wilson recorded a 6.6. Placing second for the Newport squad were Canon Call, Bobby Okvist, and two more freshmen: Zach Porteous and Fritz Howser. Finishing third was Alex Maddox.

The Harbor girls’ shortboard squad won its heat, 11-10, as Kaleigh Gilchrist and Shelby Detmers placed second and third, respectively.

The girls’ longboard team won by an identical score, 11-10, as Devyn Hartnett and Gilchrist placed second and third, respectively.

The bodyboard squad won 12-9, as Steven Jensen placed second with a 6.0 wave score and Yuji Kanbayashi took third.

Aaron Cervantes took third for the boys’ longboard squad, which were defeated, 12-9.

Newport Harbor is scheduled to return to action against San Clemente Nov. 17 at 56th Street.
