Moffett’s YMCA program gets national accreditation

The YMCA after-school program at Moffett Elementary School has become one of three such school-age programs in Orange County to receive national accreditation through the National Afterschool Assn.

Under the leadership of Director Jaime Alls, the Moffett YMCA Team worked to demonstrate its commitment to quality after school programming for kids ages 5 to 12.

The YMCA provides academic and enrichment activities to 3,200 children on 52 elementary campuses throughout the county.

The core components of the curriculum include homework support, fitness and nutrition, art and culture, and science.

The other accredited programs in the county are run by San Juan YMCA and Wood Canyon YMCA.
