Craig H. Longwell

H. Craig Longewell, 98 born Aug 6, 1910 in Johnstown, PA. Delivered by his father, the late Dr. B Elkins Longwell. Preceded in death by mother Margaret Griffith Longwell, sister Margaret Proudfoot, 83, brother Dr. B. Elkins Longwell Jr. age 95, Robert Bruce Longwell, 87 and James Cooper Longwell, 90 and son H. Craig “Tony” Longwell, Jr., 19. Survived by loving wife of 66 years Jane Gardner Longwell, daughter, Jeanne Longwell Story, two grandchildren and five great grand children residing in Ramona, CA. Also survived by sister Bette Longwell Timbers, 92, of Nantucket, Mass. and numerous nieces and nephews. Graduate of Westmont High School, Johnstown, PA. Received his B.A. degree in Business at Pomona College, Claremont, CA. After a tour of duty beginning in 1942 with the Army Air Force at Westpoint. Mr. Longwell retired as a Captain to return to civilian life in Laguna Beach, CA as an agent with Lincoln National Life Ins. Co. for over fifty years. He loved body surfing at the beach and golfing. Craig and Jane frequented the Ivy House, later known as the Cedar Creek Inn in Laguna, weekly for over 35 years.
