Dirtbags win baseball tournament

The 11 and under boys Dirtdog team was the only undefeated crew in capturing the USTBA Veterans Day Rings Classic in Huntington Beach on Sunday.

There were 17 teams in the competition. The Dirtdogs draw players from Huntington Beach, Newport Beach and Fountain Valley. In the Championship game they defeated the Manhattan Beach Heaters 8-0 to earn their rings! In fact great pitching by Steven Eldridge, Jake Mc Fetridge, Nick Pratto and Eli Asiata lead the pitching staff which threw back to back shut-outs in the semi and final games. Leading the way offensively were DJ Eckenwiler, Johnny Garrett and Teddy Stuka. The defense was shored up with Justin Mazzone, Dylan Kaplan, Michael Gates and Michael Murphy.
