College seeks to add pharmacy to campus
Golden West College is in the midst of several new construction projects.
The college has received a sizable gift for its nursing and health services center, which was unveiled Wednesday, and is seeking city approval to build a CVS Pharmacy.
The college’s new $12.5-million Frank M. and Gertrude R. Doyle School of Nursing and Health Services Building also was endowed with a $1 million gift by the Frank M. Doyle Foundation.
The Planning Commission approved the pharmacy plan at its Nov. 12 meeting. The proposal will be heard next at a City Council meeting. The pharmacy would be built at Goldenwest Street and McFadden Avenue. College officials see the project as a way to raise funds in the wake of budget cuts.
