POLICE FILES: Inflatable turkey stolen from yard

Yale Circle: Someone called to report that their eight-foot inflatable turkey was stolen from their yard on the 6300 block at 6:27 a.m. Friday.

AREA 1

Shannon Drive: Someone reported that they were called by someone claiming to be their grandson, seeking money, on the 6900 block at 9:01 a.m. Thursday. Police have received a similar call earlier this month from another residence.

Warner Avenue: Someone said a man buying condoms pulled down his pants in front of her at a store and acted lasciviously on the 6900 block at 4:45 a.m. Sunday.

Marilyn Drive: Someone reported their sheriff deputy “patrol bag,” containing a police baton and other items, was stolen from an unlocked vehicle at 5:53 a.m. Saturday.

Edinger Avenue: Someone reported a fight in which three people broke the nose of a Ford Mustang driver, then slashed the car’s tires, on the 7800 block at 10:01 p.m. Saturday.

Graham Street: Someone reportedly lost a tooth during a fight with about 20 people outside a bar on the 16700 block at 11:35 p.m. Saturday.

Warner Avenue: Someone reported a hammer thrown through a window on the 5000 block at 5:59 p.m. Friday.

Waite Lane: Someone called to report a person sleeping on their lawn on the 16500 block at 10:19 a.m. Sunday. When police arrived, they determined the person had two outstanding warrants.

Florida Street: Someone called 911 to make an appointment to speak with President-elect Barack Obama on the 18900 block at 8:48 a.m. Monday.

Slater Avenue: Someone reported a large group of people fighting with sticks on the 7800 block at 10:47 p.m. Sunday.

Polder Circle: Someone reported finding several pieces of correspondence regarding who should have custody of a dog on their garage on the 8400 block at 12:22 p.m. Saturday.

Beach Boulevard: A wallet with more than $450 in cash in it reportedly was found and returned on the 18000 block at 3:28 p.m. Saturday.

Goldenwest Street at Yorktown Avenue: Someone’s lumber fell from their truck and created a traffic hazard at 4:36 p.m. Friday.

Newland Street: A van driver reportedly pulled up beside a 12-year-old boy, turned off their lights and rolled down their window before the boy ran away on the 17500 block at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Garfield Avenue at Main Street: Someone reported that a recreational vehicle was on fire at 2:29 p.m. Saturday.

Talbert Avenue at Beach Boulevard: Police helped rescue a dog who was running in the street at 9:46 p.m. Friday.

Yorktown Avenue: Someone reported seeing two people siphon gas from vehicles on the 400 block at 4:51 a.m. Monday.

Main Street: Golf clubs and audio equipment worth more than $1,800 were reportedly stolen from an Acura on the 200 block at 11:39 a.m. Sunday.

England Street: A teenage girl reported and received medical treatment for being hit by a teenage boy on the 2600 block at 4:10 p.m. Saturday.

19th Street: Someone reported seeing a fallen power line on the 200 block at 9:58 a.m. Friday.

17th Street: Someone reported that a man was lying on the grass with his pants down on the 400 block at 8:31 a.m. Thursday.

13th Street: Someone reported that someone used their home for sale to sleep in and take a shower on the 800 block at 11:21 a.m. Thursday.

Pacific Coast Highway: Someone returned a broken bike to a rental shop and refused to pay for the damage they had incurred on the 400 block at 5:09 p.m. Sunday.

Indianapolis Avenue at Lake Street: Two people reported a driver fell asleep at the wheel and veered into oncoming traffic beginning at 9:37 a.m. Saturday.

AREA 4

Wildwood Drive: Two bikes were stolen from a residence on the 8100 block at 7:11 a.m. Friday.

Brookhurst Street at Adams Avenue: Someone reported people in a vehicle mooning others at 9:32 p.m. Friday.

Impala Lane: Someone reported that their garage was on fire and their door mat was covered in gasoline on the 21600 block at 6:42 a.m. Thursday.

Adams Avenue: Someone said a man forced a store cashier to give them $100 in cash on the 8900 block at 9:39 a.m. Monday.

Beach Boulevard at Adams Avenue: Someone reported a car knocked a traffic signal into the street, leaving its bumper in the road, then pulled into a parking lot at 2:32 a.m. Saturday. The driver walked away from the abandoned vehicle.

Farnsworth Lane: Someone reported that a classmate was threatening their first-grade child on the 20600 block at 7:21 a.m. Thursday.

Magnolia Street: Someone reported that a student threatened to stab another student on the 21400 block at 8:31 a.m. Thursday.

Linden Street: Someone reported vandalism on the 18300 block at 4:57 a.m. Monday

Magnolia Street: A vehicle burglary was reported in a shopping center on the 17100 block at 4:32 a.m. Sunday.

Pigeon Lane: Automobile tampering was reported on the 200 block at 9:03 a.m. Saturday.

Slater Avenue: Someone reported a vehicle burglary on the 10400 block at 7:34 a.m. Monday.

Newhope Street: A robbery was reported at a coffee shop on the 17800 block at 8:34 a.m. Monday.

La Alameda Avenue: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 9900 block at 9:48 p.m. Saturday.

Harbor Boulevard: A vehicle was reported stolen on the 16100 block at 12:07 a.m. Saturday.

Brookhurst Street: Grand theft was reported at a grocery store on the 16000 block at 12:02 p.m. Saturday.
