H.B. woman named director of marketing

Huntington Beach resident Janice Hopkins has been named the director of marketing and communications at UC Irvine Extension.

Hopkins will manage external marketing, public relations and branding for the auxiliary department of the university, which has more than 60 certificate and specialized study programs.

“I plan to increase the awareness of the quality and variety of courses offered,” Hopkins said in a news release.

Hopkins has more than 20 years of experience in the marketing and communications field. Most recently, she was the director of marketing for Well Point, a Fortune 35 health benefits company.

“With Hopkins’ extensive professional background, she will be a tremendous asset in directing our marketing initiatives,” said Gary Matkin, dean of continuing education at UCI, in a news release.
