H.B. day spa wins an award for excellence

Skin Deep Day Spa in Huntington Beach won Day Spa Magazine’s prestigious 2008 Diamond Award for spa excellence.

It is celebrating with several “Helping Hands” specials that include a donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley’s “Building Dreams” campaign. The organization is building a new facility on the Golden West College campus.

“We want to help people take care of themselves and loved ones in these challenging times,” owner and founder Deborah Woods said.

“A short break to relax and re-energize can go a long way to helping people survive stress. And when we provide a way to also give to a worthy cause, we strengthen our community even more.”

Woods said winning the Diamond Award validates her guiding principle that it is possible to provide resort-spa quality at affordable prices, offering not only a relaxing, refreshing retreat from busy lives, but education on skin care, wellness and community activism.

The spa’s crown jewel is its five-stage Zen Water Experience re-mineralization and water relaxation treatment.

The spa selects one charity per year to benefit through special packages and events.
