Coach’s outlook: “This team will look to run and gun as much as possible,” Russell McClurg said. “A complete new offense to take advantage of the smaller team we have this year. I believe that we have the toughest league in Orange County. Every game we play in is going to be tough. I told the girls in the end I want them to play smart, play hard and have fun.”

Team tidbits: The Vikings lost five seniors and three starers from last year’s CIF team. Only two seniors are among a 14-player roster. Senior Rita Sitivi has committed on a full scholarship to Utah.

Coach’s outlook: “We are young and inexperienced at many areas but the energy and hard work are there to set the groundwork,” Butch Fredlow said. “We will have to grow quickly if we want to be successful. Keys for us will be our shooting and our defense. If we can both of those things well, then we have a chance to be successful.
