GOLETA — Senior Victoria Kennedy scored four goals to help lead the Sea Kings in their season opener Friday.
Senior Leslie Kaczmarek scored three goals and senior Kate Berry added two for CdM, ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division I. Dos Pueblos, which won Division II last year, is ranked No. 3 in Division I.
CdM senior goalie Kate Baldoni recorded 13 saves, including a stuff on a five-meter penalty shot by Dos Pueblos’ highly regarded player Keilli Neushul.
The Sea Kings play at Santa Barbara, ranked No. 7 in Division I, today at 11 a.m.

CORONA DEL MAR — Defenders Alfie Nowak, Elliot Waniek and Miles Kellerman helped end the Sea Kings’ two-match losing skid in a nonleague match Friday.
Zak Mauer-Erickson finished with five saves for CdM (0-2-1).
Keeper Jake Blitzer made seven saves for Sage Hill.

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Lightning junior Frank Shapiro, who scored a game-high 23 points, hit the game-winner in the paint with four seconds left in the consolation game of the Warrior Hoop Time Invitational Friday at Brethren Christian High.
Sophomore Mark Loper added 13 points for Sage Hill (1-2), which plays today at 4:30 p.m. in another consolation game.

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Junior Azadeh Nazemi scored to tie the game in the 22nd minute, but the Sea Kings couldn’t notch the game-winner in the pool-play game of the Ocean View Holiday Classic at Golden West College Friday.
Millikan scored in the 10th minute. But the Sea Kings (0-1-1) answered when junior Alexandra Reinach sent a corner kick toward the box, where Nazemi put it away with a header.
But Millikan scored the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 33rd minute.
CdM freshman Sarah Cox finished with two saves.
“We pretty much dominated the game 90% of the time,” CdM Coach Bryan Middleton said. “I think we hit the post eight times today. It was just one of those games.”
Middleton also said the Sea Kings were without sophomores Lindsey Luke (goalie), Scarlett Fallon (defender) and Tessa Andujar (forward). The three girls are playing in club competition, but will be with CdM on Tuesday when the Sea Kings play host to Newport Harbor in the Battle of the Bay at 3:15 p.m.
CdM resumes pool play against Fullerton at 9 a.m. today in the Ocean View tournament and then against Calvary Chapel at 3:40 p.m.
