TEMPE, Ariz. — Rebecca Maessen led the Anteaters with 10 points in the nonconference loss to No. 25-ranked Arizona State Saturday.

The 23 points were the fewest points scored since UC Irvine lost 62-39 at the University of San Diego on Nov. 14, 1998.

The last time UCI scored under 30 points for the game was Dec. 9, 1989 when UCI managed just 24 points in a loss to Oregon State (63-24). That 24 points was the lowest total allowed in the Pac-10 record books until today.

The 53-point loss was the largest margin of defeat since Nov. 18, 1980 when UCLA beat the Anteaters by 66 (96-30).
