Lakeside tournament
LAKE ELSINORE — Costa Mesa High senior David Garcia won the championship in the 140-pound division and was named Most Valuable Wrestler for the lightweights at Lakeside High Saturday.
Garcia recorded three pins en route to the title. In the title match, he pinned a wrestler from Temescal Canyon in 40 seconds.

SANTA BARBARA — Kate Berry scored three goals to help the Sea Kings improve to 2-0 Saturday.

ORANGE — Kylie Carpenter scored five goals to help Estancia split in the final day of the tourney Saturday at Orange High.
The Eagles (2-3) began the day with a 5-4 loss, but bounced back with a 15-4 win over Saddleback in consolation action. Emily Kaplan and Amber Peters had three goals each in the Eagles’ win.

ANAHEIM — Troy McClanahan scored 26 points, hitting six three-pointers, to help lead the Eagles to an 11th-place finish in the Western-Cypress tournament Saturday at Western High.
Kohl Jones added 24 points and Kevin Thomas scored 12 for Estancia 2-2).

IRVINE — Sophomore center Alex Morton finished with 12 points and junior forward Katey Thompson contributed 11 points in the Sailors’ first pool-play game at the University Holiday Tournament Saturday.
Corinne Schnieders had seven points for Newport Harbor (1-1).
The Sailors resume pool-play action against Foothill Tuesday at 4 p.m.
