I am writing to report that we (the residents of Park Newport Apartments) have serious reasons to believe that the administration is tweaking the utility bills to make more money.

About 8 months ago the administration decided to do all the utilities billing themselves instead of the third party company that used to do it. Magically after that we all started “using” more electricity, but how to prove that they were lying about our energy consumption?

Well, three months ago my bill came showing that the Electric Meter turned twice as much as usual (and the bill twice as high too, which I refused to pay), since I knew I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary I went to the administration to complain and they said “we will look into it”. The next month the bill came showing that the electric meter DID NOT MOVE, but the bill still showed the same amount due… oops looks like someone forgot to tweak the “meter reading”

After this I went back to the administration and gave them a copy of this last bill too, again, all I got was “We will look into it”

It’s been three months and I keep waiting for a reasonable explanation of what happened, but they do contact me every two weeks to “remind me “ that I owe them money for that month that the bill came twice as high.

I would like the authority having jurisdiction in this kind of matter to investigate this irregular situation.
