Dr. Dwayne L. Merry

(79) Passed away September 27th,

2008 surrounded by family. The

former Newport Beach / Corona

del Mar resident was born December

8th 1929 in Dickinson, ND

to Elizabeth (Betty) and Welton

(Lorne) Merry.

In 1965 he and his wife Patricia

(Horner) and two sons (Scott and

Jon) moved to Costa Mesa, CA

where Dwayne taught at Orange

Coast College. They had two girls (Jordana and Beth) and

moved in 1973 to Newport Beach. Dr. Merry retired from

teaching in 1988 and shortly thereafter moved to Florida to

be near his brother Welton. There he met and married Dr.

Telse Hunter in 1991. He continued to travel, lecture, and

create many more adventures.

He will be sorely missed by his family; Scott (Sherri) Merry,

Jon Merry, Jordana (Sean) Carroll, Beth Merry, his wife Telse

Merry, and her children Tanya (Wade) Olszewski, Natasha

Hunter, Jason Hunter, and many wonderful grandchildren.

A memorial celebrating his life will be held on Saturday

December 6th, 2008 at 2:00pm at The Oasis Center, 800

Marguerite Ave. Corona del Mar, CA 92625
