H.B. pedestrian dies in crash

Police have released the name of a Huntington Beach man who was fatally struck by a car on Saturday night while trying to walk across the street.

Isidoro A. Cardozo, 42, was pronounced dead at 10:25 p.m. at UCI Medical Center, according to the county coroner’s office. He was struck at around 5:30 p.m. while trying to cross Beach Boulevard near Slater Avenue, traffic officer Bob Barr said.

Police are still investigating the death of Cardozo, who did not use the signal to cross the street, Barr said. They did not arrest the driver, who pulled over after the collision.
