Homeless Breakfast Donations Needed

The Laguna Resource Center, and Laguna Presbyterian’s Outreach Committee are organizing the 8th Annual Homeless Christmas Breakfast on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 9AM at the Neighborhood Congregational Church. Once again, Boy and Girl Scout troops, Suzy Campbell and scores of community volunteers will share in the hospitality. Last year, one of the Girls Scouts who helped assemble hygiene kits, commented on the heartwarming event: “We want to help so the homeless don’t feel so sad.”

Financial donations are needed to defray the costs of new warm clothing, backpacks and sleeping bags given to guests at the breakfast. Donate on line by going to www.lagunapreschurch.org. Click on giving then debit or credit card on-line. Be sure to note on the “additional remarks” box, for homeless breakfast. Or make checks payable to Laguna Presbyterian Church, for Homeless Breakfast and send or bring to 415 Forest Avenue, Laguna Beach, 92651.

If you wish to donate items in good condition, drop them off any morning between 9AM and noon at the Resource Center, 3305 Laguna Canyon Road, behind Kubisak’s, or during office hours at the Congregational Church, 340 St. Ann’s Dr. Items requested are gently used or new back packs, winter jackets, blankets, and sleeping bags, new hotel sized soaps, shampoos, deodorants, combs, Chap Stick, razors and socks.
