COSTA MESA — Sophomore Simone Ibbotson scored 14 points to lead the Pirates to open the Coast Christmas Classic Friday at Orange Coast.

Sophomore Casey Gomez and freshman Daisy Bueno added 11 points each for OCC (10-4). Southwestern (3-6) was led by Tagisia Togisala, who scored a game-high 16 points.

Freshman Rebecca Murray, who scored two points, led the Pirates with 11 rebounds.

OCC shot 33.3% from the field (22 for 66).

The Pirates will play against Cerritos today at 7 p.m. in the championship semifinals. Chaffey faces College of the Canyons at 5 p.m. in the other semifinal.
