Today, while volunteering at the front desk of the Costa Mesa Senior Center, a Christmas card was delivered addressed to the “Office.”

Not sure who specifically to give it to, I opened it. I would like to share with you the lovely, touching words of the sender.

“I just want each of you to know how much I appreciate all you do to keep the senior center going. I’m not able to attend all the activities but I do get to some of them and enjoy all. I need my friends and the center to ‘keep me up and going.’ I’m sure I am not the only one there who feels the same. I just wanted you to know. Thanks so much. Love to all.”

Services, programs, classes and events for seniors of Costa Mesa are offered by loyal, compassionate, experienced, and qualified staff and volunteers.

Recent letters to the editor and by the editor have been filled with hate, anger and completely false accusations and information.

I hope the Daily Pilot will publish positive news about our center and offer some interesting stories of success, changes in lives, meaningful friendships that have developed, fun travel opportunities, and services unavailable at other senior centers.
